MBFC is honored to present Dan Francis with The Wilds Resort & Campground with a MBFC VetLoan Advantage Rebate of $3,000. MBFC is the only Certified Development Company in Minnesota to offer a rebate to business owners that are active or retired members of Military Service as a way to honor their service to our Country.
Dan served in the 136 Infantry Division of the Minnesota National Guard, from 2003 to 2012. During that time, he spent 22 months in Iraq with the 2-136th combined arms battalion. While there, Dan worked base security, combat missions, combat patrols, and maintained an army presence in a small town. This time included helping out with some community projects in these Iraqi towns, such as installing new water wells and septic systems.

Dan and his wife, Kellie, purchased a resort on Shell Lake near Osage, MN. This is a beautiful lake area between Park Rapids and Detroit Lakes, MN. Mike Stearns, MBFC and Mark Schik, the participating lender from Citizens National Bank, along with West Central Initiative Foundation partnered on a SBA 504 project to assist in the resort purchase. In addition to cabin rentals, they have since expanded RV and tent campsite areas and are increasing year-round cabin rentals.
