Midwest Fire Equipment & Repair Company, located in the southwest industrial park in Luverne, was purchased by Sarah Atchison, along with family members Lyle and Jane Gessell, with collaborative financing assistance from The First National Bank in Sioux Falls, Prairieland EDC, Southwest Initiative Foundation and the Southwest Regional Development Commission. Proceeds from these entities were used to purchase the existing building, equipment and business assets. “The collaborated effort and expertise of our lending team has been outstanding”, stated Sarah Atchison. “They really went out of their way to work together on a package that would strengthen the business”.
Midwest Fire Equipment & Repair Company was founded in 1987 to design and manufacture high-quality fire apparatus vehicles, such as tanker trucks used by municipal and volunteer firefighting departments all over the United States, Canada and various countries worldwide. “The company has wonderful hard-working employees who design and build great products that save property and lives”, said Sarah Atchison.
